The Slave and The Crown

Three different posts, three different coloring styles. I think I'm gonna work on getting better at the first, I prefer the softer almost pastel look.

BJ gave me this piece to color, it's the cover from a book he's doing titled "The Slave and The Crown". I really want to know what's in the bag.

Hey! I meant to comment on this a while ago (like a month ago) but I am so very easily distracted. Anyway, i like your color choices in this one, more subtle and atmospheric.

Thanks Michelle, still working hard behind the scenes to find something that strikes a balance, something that kids will enjoy but grown up readers won't just disregard as candy.

And yes, I'm pretty easily distracted myself :(

hmmm. How long have these been up, anyways? A month? How come you didn't tell me??!! I think the background is too vibrant for the earthy-toned skin. It competes too much. But, I love how the texture of the sky is, and i like the foreground colors a lot.

Well Ericar, since you're posting on the 1st of December, they've been up roughly TWO months. I did get close to the effects I was looking for in background, but I'm still struggling with contrast as you can see. It's frustrating, but I ain't givin' up jes yet.
